Tintagel
Tintagel. 2022
Heard about this town on YouTube, (camper vibe)
About the best town in the UK for camper vans who wish to stay.
Stayed two nights, paid car park fee first night. went for a quick pint then wander around shops.
loads of shops open in middle of week and loads of tourists.
sure this is due to being made welcome.
Booked table at the king Arthurs arms, not a cheap meal but it was stunning. service was excellent and good selection drinks.
second day moved to grassed field next door, £8 a night at the time.
toilets are about 100 yards from field. not open until 8 am. AND don't forget your 20p.
Ended up going small hike around to the church, (in pictures). Then across and down to the cove (wear good boots some parts slippery).
Land rover ride available to get back to top. We decided to walk it,
ooooh what a work out that was. A very hot day as well, Burnt off good few calories. ( £2.50 for ride)
Spent good few ££££ here and don't begrudge a penny, well worth it and treated well
p.s. National trust Old Post Office worth a wander around, especially if your a trust member. (free). BUT don't forget to duck, they must have been a lot shorter in the old days or fitter.
King Arthurs Castle.
looked good but as on a bit of a budget gave it a miss this time.
Definatally do it next time, we'll be back.
Van Life Festival 2022
VANFEST 2022.
Stratford Upon Avon. Race course.
Never done a Van festival before, not quite what we expected.
met quite a lot of YouTube Vloggers,
The amount of work they have to put in behind the scenes is amazing.
will up load a few pictures later.
Ilfracombe.
Had a really good time here, stayed one night.
went around some of the local shops, always try to spend a few pound in local shops etc. only fair when locals are polite and welcoming. Wetherspoons had to be visited for evening meal, which was very good.
The statue of the pregnant lady on the harbour is awesome.
Plymouth, Mevagissy, Barton on sea, Portland, Exmouth, Stonehenge, Tenby, Minehead, and quite a few more. some good some enough to make you toe nails curl.
Poor old Bob.
The saga of the M.O.T.
The dreaded ford transit welding, yep failed for some welding to be done.
after the MOT we get a very kind offer from the gentleman mechanic who fixes almost everything that moves, while he is very busy he had bob in after we stripped the seating side panels and flooring out ready. (sons partner to be fair did most of this ).
We then dropped bob off for some TLC,
Large chunk money later (a lot less than other people wanted to be fair) booked another MOT, ok your probably ahead of me by now. Failed again not quite welded how they wanted.
A little clear up at this point neither welding or MOT guy really at fault just one of them things, not portioning blame or fault.
Back for more TLC, all booked for another MOT, ok again you most likely ahead.
Failed again. they found a couple more holes in need of TLC, seems a bit odd i know but jobs really did need doing, I have a fairly good knowledge of cars and vans and all these jobs were necessary.
Waiting at the moment for next try, very confident this time.
then comes the refit. was already thinking of a little alteration, so this has kind of forced our hand. if we going to put new a floor and refit seats/beds may as well raise floor and make a garage space, move batteries and wiring. put toilet on runners and have it slide away under seating. a little more work but nearer to the way we want it.
as you can guess the budget is now a bit less than ideal.
will update when bob a little better. But at least we know bob now safer. after all he is 18 years old.
Good news Bob well again. Now for refit.
